Oil Changes

Oil changes done on a regular basis will increase the life of your engine by removing harmful acids and contaminants. Most manufactures recommend changing your oil every 3500 to 5000 miles or every 3 to 4 months whichever comes first*. Lack of frequent oil changes causes hydrocarbons and sludge to collect on engine parts and seals. This decreases engine performance and, over time, may cause engine failure.

We are proud to stock Kendal GT-1 Synthetic blend oil. While you wait for the service, we inspect your vehicle, top off all fluids if needed, and explain our recommendations if any.

Transmission Service

This service improves performance, reduces component failure and increases automatic transmission longevity. Over time, transmission fluid oxidizes, thinning the fluid and depositing gums and varnishes on the transmission valve body and lines. Express Auto Service drains the old fluid and replaces it with fresh new transmission fluid. Some vehicles have a transmission filter. We recommend replacing with new filter at time of drain and refill. This service is recommended every two years or 30,000 miles*.

Manual Transmissions
For manual transmissions, we recommend draining the old fluid/oil and replacing it with fresh new fluid/oil every two years or 30,000 miles*.

Technicians Tip: Two of the main causes of transmission failure are bad radiators and not flushing your car’s fluids regularly. We recommend flushing the fluids of your car every 2 years or 30,000 miles*. (These recommendations may be more often than those listed in your owner’s manual.)

Disc Rotors – Rotors are the heart and sole of the modern cars braking system. Rotors do wear and must remain within Manufactures thickness tolerances for safe and efficient performance. Upgrade Rotors are available for heavy towing and performance driving.

Computer Diagnostic

Most vehicles are equipped with Computer Control Unit Memory in which Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) are stored. If a Malfunction Indicator Light* also known as (MIL, check engine, and service engine soon) stays ON after you start up your vehicle, a DTC it’s been detected and stored into the computer memory. Not all trouble codes will activate MIL.
With the advanced diagnostic equipment at Express Auto Service, will retrieve all trouble codes in most OBD and OBDII systems and diagnose step by step the problems in your vehicle. If the problem is simple we will repair it at no extra cost.

Engine Repair/Rebuild

We can service the engines of most import and domestic cars, light trucks and SUVs. Most services such as  Valve cover and Oil pan gaskets, and tune-up can be complete in the same day with appointment. Major repairs such as Timing belts, Water pumps, Cylinder head gaskets, Valve jobs and Engine rebuilds will take longer depending on job and parts availability. We know that your time is valued and we will use our knowledge and experience to complete the job fast and right the first time.

If your engine must be replaced, we offer a number of different types of replacement engines (call for prices):

1. Used Engine - Comes with a 30 day warranty.
2. Japanese Take-Out* Engine - Comes with a 6 month/unlimited mileage warranty. [*Japan has very stringent environmental regulations that require the engines of all cars to be replaced frequently. Many of these low-mileage engines are shipped to the US as replacement engines.]
3. Rebuilt/Remanufactured - Comes with a 12-36 month warranty.

Engine Tune-Up

Every car needs a Tune-Up attention. A Tune-Up is recommended if you haven’t recently serviced your vehicle. Also if you have a poor fuel economy, or the engine idles or runs rough. Some of the Tune-Up services are listed below.

Scheduled Maintenance

To help keep your car running in “like new” condition, your owner’s manual specifies preventive maintenance services to be performed according to miles traveled and/or age of auto. At Express Auto Service, we have the equipment and expertise to do these services for you.
